Gardening

‘"And because the breath of flowers is far sweeter in the air (where it comes and goes like the warbling of music) than in the hand, therefore nothing is more fit for that delight than to know what be the flowers and plants that do best perfume the air." Francis Bacon 1625 Essay, ‘Of Gardens’

I didn't start gardening until I moved from London to Norfolk in 2002.

Now I have a large garden so have to do some work to keep it  tidy. I also want to encourage wildlife. And grow some flowers, fruit, and vegetables.

As I work, I think.

This page will contain some of those gardening thoughts.

There's an overlap with material on the 'Peasant' page, so if this page interests you, check out that one, too.

And I've made some movies on gardening theme, so see also the 'Movies' page.

My wife, Barbara, made a slide show of our garden in the spring of 2020, during the coronavirus lockdown.
